Remember The Fallen

As I slept in my bed all comfortable on that tragic morning I heard the distant ring of the phone that awoke me from my slumber.

I was told to get up and turn on the tv.. to see before my eyes a horrific scene.
In New York terrorist did strike hitting the World Trade Center out of spite.

Not once but twice did they strike a blow, striking with our own planes, flying bombs of death.

Then another scene came on to sadden me even more not four hours from my home the mighty Pentagon was struck as well.

Still another plane was on its way to our country's capitol to strike yet again... Hero's on that plane took it down in PA, saving lives while giving theirs... Lives of men, women and even children given freely to save our country from another strike.

The fires burnt so fierce that metal was melted, causing the twin brothers to fall, killing those still trapped within.

Rescue workers died, fighting for their cause, men, women and perhaps children all for an unjust cause.

Innocents all casualties of a war that neither of them wanted, all killed for being Americans, a part of the human race.

As I sat and watched the horror before my eyes, sadness and rage combined, wondering what would our leaders do to punish those who did this monstrous deed.

Shock shook our proud nation, uniting us as one, fighting for one cause, no longer did we see our own colors, beliefs and prejudices as a handicap but rather as a strength uniting us at last.

Democrats and Republicans on Capital Hill, arm in arm singing as one voice, no longer on different sides.

September 11th will indeed be a day to go down in infamy it will live in the hearts of not only Americans but humanity, a day when prejudice for a race choose the fate of many.

After the dust settles and the healing and rebuilding begins we can stand together, arm arm in arm, hand in hand, and we can shout to the fiend who did this. "We are Americans... We are proud... We are still here... You did not defeat us... but... together united as a nation and with the rest of the world... we will defeat you!!!"

God Bless The USA

If tomorrow all the things were gone, I'd worked for all my life
and I had to start again with just my children and my wife
I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today
cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away

And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free
and I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me
and I'll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
cause there ain't no doubt....I love this land
God bless the USA

From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A.
where there's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say -

I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free
and I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me
and I'll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
cause there ain't no doubt.......I love this land
God bless the USA.

In Memory Of The Victims Of The World Trade Center, Pentagon and The Hijacked Planes... May all this not have been in vain!!
